VictoriaClaude Murray Ross competed for Australasia at the 1912 Summer Olympic Games in Stockholm, Sweden. In 1914 he enlisted in the Field Artillery Brigade of the 1st Division First Australian Imperial Force and in 1915 he was at both the April landing & December evacuation of the Gallipoli Campaign of World War I. In 1917 he gained commission in the Royal Flying Corps and was subsequently killed on 17 August 1917 aged 24 years in the skies over France.
